The Foundation was formed by a steering committee of educators, parents, and community/business members who recognized the need for a charitable foundation that could draw in new resources and support for our school district.
Officially incorporated in late 2006 as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organization, the MTEF Board of Directors began work in 2007 and made their first donation to the school district—$7,000 for technology equipment—in 2008/9.
Spring 2010
Awarded $11,500 in Scholarships to 2010 graduates of MTHS.
Our 2nd Annual Golf Outing was a huge success, raising over $13,000.
We began our first Mini-Grant cycle, and awarded over $3,000 in Mini-Grants in May 2010.
Sponsored a trip for MTHS Peer Leadership students to attend Woodrow Wilson Public Policy Forum at Princeton University.
Fall 2009
Our 'Dining to Donate' fundraiser at Applebee's of Manchester set a record for the number of flyers redeemed and raised about $250.
We held our first 50/50 Raffle, raising $1300 for the foundation.
Spring 2009
MTEF sponsored a trip for MTHS Theatre Arts students to attend "Westminster Presents" theater workshop at Rider University.
Our First Annual Golf Outing fundraiser at Lakewood Country Club. Thanks to many generous sponsors and golfers, we raised over $6,000 at this event.
We awarded our first scholarships to members of the MTHS Class of 2009.
